What is FPS?

 WHAT IS FPS?

FPS stands for Frames Per Seconds. It applies not only to computer graphics in video games but to all motion capture systems including film and video cameras. This frequency is usually measured by frames per seconds (fps). For example, at 30 fps, 30 distinct images would appear in succession within one second.

Why FPS is important in gaming?

Actually, it is the smoothness of the FPS that makes us feel that the game is smooth as well - if the FPS jumps around a lot, then also it can make us feel that the game is not running smoothly. This is why movies, even at a low FPS of 24, feel smooth - because the FPS remains constant.
